BRING IT ON leaf blower, halloween, boots, and … smoothies! Yup … fall smoothies. Hopefully you aren’t sick of seeing pumpkin this and spice that at every food and drink joint. Because, we’ve got more pumpkin and spice for you to try at home!
PUMPKIN SPICE SMOOTHIE
STUFF YOU NEED
1. 1/4 c. plus 2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
2. 1/4 c. canned pumpkin puree
3. 3/4 c. plain Greek yogurt
4. 1 medium apple, cut into pieces (try honeycrisp and leave the skin on)
5. 1/2 small banana, sliced and frozen
6. 1/2 c. milk (almond, soy, dairy, etc.)
7. 1/8 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
8. 1/2 c. ice cubes
LET’S MAKE IT
Step one
Place oats in blender and blend for about 30 seconds until finely chopped.
Step two
Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
BERRY CIDER SMOOTHIE
STUFF YOU NEED
1. 1 c. mixed berries, frozen
2. 1 - 1¼ c. apple cider
3. Honey or agave syrup to taste
LET’S MAKE IT
Step one
In a blender, combine the frozen berries and apple cider.
Step two
Process until smooth, adding extra juice if it seems a little too thick.
Step three
Add honey or agave syrup to sweeten if necessary.
GINGERSNAP SMOOTHIE
STUFF YOU NEED
1. 1 c. vanilla ice cream
2. 1/4 c. milk
3. 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
4. 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
5. 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
6. 1/2 tbsp. molasses
7. 1/4 c. agave nectar
8. 10 -15 small gingersnap cookies, crumbled
LET’S MAKE IT
Step one
Add the first 6 ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
Step two
Cookie rim:
Gather two shallow dishes and add the agave to one and the gingersnap crumbs to another.
Step three
Dip the rim of the glasses in the agave and then in the cookie crumbs.
Step four
Pour!
